A few weeks back I had the pleasure of talking with Mary Clayton Crozier, regarding Nancy Purbeck appearing on our BNN TV Show. I did want to let the views know that on October 16th at 1:30-2:00 Nancy will be on our show talking about Positive People Day. October 29th will be the 10th year that Positive People Day is observed in the city of Boston.

Dear Maura:
I am sending a letter to you but I would like to know if it would be possible on Oct. 16 or the 23 to have the founder of Positive People Day on your show. She is Nancy Purbeck, former BNN producer, who founded Positive People Day which will be observed on Oct. 29 with an official City Of Boston proclamation . This is the tenth year that Positive People Day is being observed in the City Of Boston. The theme is Commitment to Kindness and it is an anti violence observance. Underdog is the mascot of the day . He was a famous cartoon character of the 60' s co created by Watts Biggers who has joined Nancy for the past 10 years in organizing the observance. This year Underdog is the star of a new Disney movie.

I have been helping with the publicity since Nancy first told me about her plan. I must say I thought this would never get off the ground . But I helped her because she was a BNN produceer and I was public information director. There is a highlight of the day at South Station when volunteers pass out cards to commuters and travelers telling them about the purpose of the day . There are endorsement from psychiatrissts who acknowledge if you are kind and caring you cannot be violent. They are Dr. Gerrold Rosenbaum, chief of psychiatry at MGH, Dr. Mary Anna Sullivan, chief of psychiatry at Lahey Clinic Medical Center, and Dr. Alvin Poussaint , child psychiatrist at the Judge Baker Children's Center and an adviser to the Cosby show which emphasized family values.

So this is it in a nutshell. And because I think of you as a positive person I think Nancy and you would relate well on a live call in. I think it is so muchmore interesting when people respond on the phone and I am sure that the subject will draw people into commenting. You would recognize me as an older supporter of you and a member of the Ward 5 Democratic Committee. I trhink you could have some fun encouraging call ins. It is my belief that with the war and so many thingshappening in our society that a commitment to kindness is a breath of spring.

Sincerely, Mary Clayton Crozier mcrozier@theworld.com and 617 267 0413

The best way to locate a court is on the internet (www.mass.gov/courts/ ) or by calling information (411). A call to the court house that you think may be the correct location is a safe bet, most people are not sure what location they should be going to.
